Meet our scholars - Kim Jason Balino

Kim Jason Balino is grateful.

Through the support of One UPV’s scholarship, his pursuit of higher education is less of a burden to him and his family. Kim Jason, who is from Midsayap Cotabato, is pursuing a degree in Accountancy at the University of the Philippines in the Visayas. A bright and promising student, he graduated valedictorian of his high school class in 2015.

Without the One UPV scholarship, Kim Jason’s family–whose income is unstable–would be forced to take out loans to support their son. Listen to Kim Jason talk about how the One UP scholarship has helped him.

“Education is really important to me,” Jim Jason said earlier in the year. “I want to become a Licensed CPA and work at one of the Bluechip companies, particularly in Auditing. I also love Biology, Medicine and Teaching. I am planning that after maybe 5 years or more of practicing as a Licensed CPA, I can conduct a scientific discovery and research, engage in a biological or medical-related profession and later devote myself to teaching both accounting and biological studies.”
